The following is a mass email asking who will be ordering from Spice today:
Subject: "If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?"
Zen Koans like this one are traditional Japanese folk tales that allow multiple interpretations and can help lead to great insights. They are meant to shock the mind into a state of uncertainty, a state of pure potential, a state of enlightenment.
To that noble end I offer another Koan:
"If Thursday afternoon arrives and Edwin is not in the office, does Spice Thursday still take place?"
Today we have the opportunity to once and for all solve a mystery that has befuddled the minds of office workers everywhere for ages. I leave it to each of you to look within yourself and find the answer. Whatever you decide, let me know before noon.

Rumble in Greenwich Village, it's not looking good friends.
Remember when I thought my job was safe? Think again.

And I had to thwart an SDS protest last night. Honestly, I've become the Man.

New Jersey is on Fire.
In true Sam Rosenberg fashion I have taken a phone picture of the view from my desk on the 17th floor on lower 5th Avenue. There is a truck on fire...yowza.

I did this. Blame me.

"It all goes back to Friday, March 7th when sleazy club owner Simon Hammerstein, headband-wearing scenester Arden Wohl, gay party boy Derek Blasberg, heiress Amanda Hearst, and gala staple Claire Bernard turned up at the New York Stock Exchange to ring the closing bell."Story here

So to explain what I'm talking about: I used to plan the Winter Dance at the American Museum of Natural History. As a publicity move I basically badgered the NYSE to allow them to ring the closing bell on a date close to the event (March 13). This is the result. Wow.
